| Blu Nightclub - December 29 2009 |
This show played to a full house thanks to the great weather and upcoming holiday. As a matter of fact, all of the Blu shows so far this year have been packed. And I'll be honest, I kind of run out of things to say about these shows because they are all graced with great audiences a great atmosphere and everyone performing has come with their "A" game. It's almost as if all of those Sunday nights out on the patio playing to a 7-10 split and a couple of bartenders paid off. Check the show schedule to see the time and date of the next Blu Nightclub show and as always - keep your horns in the air and your feet on the ground. |
| Blu Nightclub - November 24 2009 |
2009 has been a year of many changes and great things for us. New talent, new venues and a new president. All of this greatness came to a delicious head on November 24th as we moved our Blu Nightclub shows indoors for the very first time. We were skeptical at first due to the shape of the room, but all our doubts were extinguished as soon as James Gates hit the stage. This show lit up the room in a big way and everyone there felt it. Two guys improv were hysterical, Deonde Crawford did a great guest set and featured acts James Gates, myself and Mr. Biggs made it a night to remember. The crowd was awesome and Blu is now one of my top three favorite places to perform. The waitstaff is oh so sweet, the bartenders are oh so generous and of course Scott is a true gentleman for letting us do our thing in his spot. Look for us here all year round from here on out. |
Bristol's Tavern in Park City |
A new venue and the four original ICT comics took it to them. Jeremy, Chris, Biggs turned it on and turned it out old school with new jokes, new friends and the same old oat soda beverages always there at an ICT show. I made a guest appearance to make the reunion complete and for once in a long time, comedy was almost too much fun. I can't explain how much like old times it felt to share the stage with three of my best friends in comedy and I went to sleep remembering how much I respect these guys. I look forward to rocking that bitch again on October 6th with Romie Lee and Derek Aalders. Expect greatness. |
| BBlu Nightclub - All Summer Long |
These shows have kicked ass all summer long. We did this last year and the turn outs were good. This year, the patio has been packed every show. We have found new talent in Daniel Pewewardy and Deonde Crawford and there will be more from them in the future. As for now, look out road...here we come. Bringin' "comfort comedy" to everyone who wishes to sit in it and wallow. |
| The ICT Comedy Summer Comedy Showcase & DVD Show |
This was the perfect night to shoot our first DVD. Every single bastard on this bill brought it and the crowd ate up every bit of it. From, "little" Derek Aalders to Mr. Biggs, the whole roster shredded the mic and showed anyone who hadn't seen us why they should have. Kudos to Mark Argonbright for the video talent and Nathan Swink for all the still work. This DVD will be on sale shortly and we expect the first run to sell out immediately so hollar at us on facebook or myspace to reserve yours now. |
| Tuesday Night Comedy Review - A Recap |
This bi monthly show has morphed into more than we ever thought it could have. With the help and support of our fellow comics and comedy groups such as, Say What?, The James Gates Show and The Scallywags along with musicians like Scott Allen Knost among others, the Tuesday Night Comedy Revue has succeeded in becoming a very well attended event that has the potential to only get bigger. If you haven't gotten out to one of these shows, you are one of the unfortunate few who are missing out on the birth of a history making event. The informal formation of, The Wichita Comedy Conglomeration. (yea, I probably spelled it wrong). Improv, Standup and alternative humor styles are all represented in full force and the city has responded favorably. These shows will continue to happen throughout the spring, so watch the calendar page for all of the updates please. And Thank You Wichita, for laughing along with us. |
| Kyle Hicks Benefit - January 20th 2009 |
Biggs hosted the entire arrair and did his usual great job keeping the action moving and playing stage director to this unruly bunch of yahoos. Derek Aalders, Chris Winslow, myself and Jeremy Rush all proceded to throw down in true ICT fashion and with the addition of the two road acts the crowd was thoroughly laughed out when they hit the door. Most of the crowd overflowed into Backstage and the party raged into the night with the finale of the evening being an impromptu Carl Brewer look-a-like contest held in the ladies bathroom. Truly a night that noone, including the girl who won, will ever forget. Again, a true hero was honored that night and our hearts and best wishes go out to Kyle and his wonderful family. Anyone wishing to help Kyle with his cause please visit cotaforkyleh.com Do the right thing for once in your miserable lives you rat bastards. |
| Barleycorn's - Oct 16, 2008 - Piggly Ass Bitch! |
We have been doing shows together like this for the last year and a half and I am constantly amazed at the type of audiences we get. We have played to as many as 50 and to as small a group as 5 and every one is unique. The beautiful thing is...when the show is over, the audience doesn't all have to leave the room right away. We get to hang out and get to know them. And we have gotten to know a bunch of really cool people this way. This show went off without a hitch containing great sets by Derek, Jeremy and Chris. The only problem that reared it's head was Biggs' pizza not being done in time for him to go on. This lead to an entire set devoted to breakfast foods which had the room jerking with laughter. We fucking love Barleycorn's and are looking forward to being there again on Christmas night. So after your Christmas day nap--and after you've knocked the bottom out of your old lady--get your jolly ass off the couch-put your panties on and get down to see us...! that is all--

| Blu Nightclub - Oct 12th, 2008 |
This will probably be our last show of the year here and it started out to be a normal one with a great turnout including a few friends I hadn't seem in a while as well as some of Jeremy's and Derek's people in the crowd of 35 to 40 people packed into the little patio / bar out back. Derek opened and did a great job. Everyone was attentive and when it came time to laugh, they all did the right thing. Jeremy was in the middle spot and probably turned in the best set of the night. Having a baby has provided him with a shitload of new jokes and noone else can deliver a Ken Landwehr reference better than Jeremy. Making my headlining debut...I had a great first 7 minutes before I completely stepped into an arugument with some loudmouth asshole in a Wal-mart closeout sportscoat. Completely ignoring the cardinal rules of comedy, I continued to engage him and eventually I became angry. I finished my set poorly and proceeded to drown my sour mood with sourmash. On the brighter side, everyone in the crowd bought us drinks and on top of the hundred dollar store credit we were given...we all ended up feeling pretty damn funny by the end of the night. So it wasn't a total loss. Derek and Jeremy got to feel what it was like to do better than the headliner...and I got a lot of shit off of my chest. Mission accomplished. |
A Summation of the Past Few Shows or Philly Cheesesteak at 9pm. |
All lunacy aside, there are things brewing and be prepared to be amazed. 20 new minutes apiece would truly be a Christmas miracle--but stand up comedy is a fairly repititous art form. Very few comics are able to go out and do a completely different show every night. It takes weeks of doing the same joke over and over to get it even close to being perfect. And then you start on a new one. Thanks for being patient with us as we learn and grow, Wichita. The best is yet to come in 09'. |
